2021 HAN Legislative Priorities

We are demanding that Sen. Martin Looney add to his 2021 list of legislative priorities, legislation that will increase access to the ballot by the BBI community, who are most affected by Connecticut's voter suppression.  

1. Early Voting - Suppression begins when arriving to the voting location and facing a 2 -3 hour wait to get in to vote.  Voting should be able to take place prior to election day.  House Joint Resolution No. 59 (HJ 59) Resolution Proposing an Amendment to the State Constitution to Permit Early Voting.

3. No Excuse Absentee Voting- This measure will immediately increase voter turn out.  House Joint Resolution No. 58 (HJ 58) Resolution Proposing an Amendment to the State Constitution to Permit No-Excuse Absentee Voting;Parolee Restored Voting Rights - These CT citizens have paid their dues to society, they must be included in their democracy upon their re-joining the community.
